works well but failed after seven months
I ordered this hotpot last Dec. and it worked well for the initial six months. The problem came out in the seventh months. The high power button fails to work. Now I could only use low power and it takes a long time to cook the food. I'm not sure how long the warranty of the product is.
pretty good so far
I love doing shabu shabu/ chines hot pot at my ski cabin with family and friends. Had been using an electric fondue, but I wanted the real thing.
They are not easy to find, and this was the best I could do. I like the duel chambers because I could make one side extreme spice on one side and a more mild, or use miso for a change. It is just hot enough on high, but barely. It would be good if it could put out a few more BTU's.
Over all, the best I could find, and it is good. I would just prefer a level higher quality and sturdiness. Williams Sonoma should offer a higher quality one.
Boils - but unevenly heats
Purchased this hot pot for the capability of having two different soup bases at a time. If set on high power, it boils - but only on one small part of the heating unit. You must twist the bowl in order to get a small area of heat for both sides of the bowl. Would prefer an even distribution of heat. That being said, it does work and is a good height for everyone to be able to add/remove their selected ingredients. Is a very good size for a family of four.
