Great and stylish blender
It's simply a great blender and is very modern looking.

The buttons on the side of the blender are well placed and responsive. There's a small light to the left of every button except "OFF" that goes on when that button is selected, very nifty.

The glass container is sturdy and slightly heavy with measuring markers engraved in the glass. The blender has many blending options as well.

I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but even I find it easy to disassemble, clean, and reassemble.

I highly recommend this product.

UPDATE: I've owned the blender for over a year and it still works and looks as good as it did the first day out of the box.

POWERHOUSE!
We drink protein shakes 3x a day. I love lots of ice in mine, and this blender is perfect for that! Even the lower settings are more than powerful enough to chop the ice up. And the fact that it is very good looking didn't hurt either! I used to run a juice stand and this does as good as any of the professional models I've used.

Great Blender for a Great Price
I wanted a high power blender similar to a Vitamix, but I noticed that Vitamix blenders were priced at approximately $400. Although this Cuisinart blender is not quite as powerful as a Vitamix, the price is much better and so is the overall look of the blender. This blender is the most powerful in the Cuisinart Line.
I have used this blender to make soups and fruit & vegetable smoothies and it has worked extremely well and is very easy to clean. The jar is also very strong and can contain a high quantity of liquids and solids. It is the best blender I have ever owned and would recommend it to anyone.

Hamilton Beach (HBB908) - 44 oz Commercial Two-Speed Blender - 908 Series

Hamilton Beach Blender
I like this product. It is light weight and makes wonderful smoothies. It does make alot noise when blending and vibrates. It is important to make sure the suction cups on the feet are secure.

So very disappointed
We have a 13 year old Hamilton Beach blender that we purchased from a restaurant supply company as we were selling our restaurant. It is still going. We had a need for a second blender and thought we would stick with what served us so well. This is a completely different animal. The plastic is cheap and thin, the motor sounds and smells as though it is going to seize, and on the 4th use, small metal bits of a washer shot out of the thing. I cannot recommend this blender less.

I WOULD DEFINITELY ORDER A DIFFERENT BRAND NEXT TIME
Very disappointed in this product. I still have the older Hamilton Beach model #1C909 MADE IN THE U.S.A., which is so much more efficient then this new one I ordered. I can not understand why you call it a COMMERCIAL BLENDER. When I turn on the blender on high the motor smells like it is bruning and this is suppose to be more powerful the the older model #1C909.

Cuisinart PowerEdge 700 Watt Blender

Almost Idiot-proof blender.
DON'T BELIEVE the BAD reviews of this blender! Some people could destroy an armored tank, because they are such idiots, they can't read and follow SIMPLE instructions, and don't know how to treat electrical appliances with a tiny bit of care and respect.

I bought this blender to replace my Cuisinart Smart Power blender, which was 500 watts, and served me quite well for over 2 years of very heavy usage. I searched HARD and read reviews on every make of blender out there to replace my Cuisinart. I was hesitant after reading so many negative reviews of them here, and elsewhere, but in the end, bought this Cuisinart because I had been so happy with my previous one - it still works, by the way, but the On/Off button is starting to wear out, and I wanted a little more power, because my smoothies have a LOT of frozen fruit, but not a lot of liquids, which seemed to strain my 500 watt Cuisinart more than it does my new CB-1400. I am fully confident that I made the best choice...

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
The Good:

The glass jar is thick. The lip seals the jar well. The various mixing speeds (and pauses) are a real plus. And the blender crushes ice with ease.

The Bad:

The blender's ability to make smoothies may depend on your recipe. For larger batches, you must include twice as much liquid (juice/milk/water) in your recipe as solid (fruit/yogurt/sugar/honey/fiber/ice), or it will not mix.

The Ugly:

Pouring (or should I say after-pouring) is a nightmare. Because there is no pitcher spout, part of the mix runs down the outside of the jar every time I raise the jar to stop pouring. And you have to stop the run quickly before it gets to the gap between the glass and the base of the jar, or you will have two simultaneous pours (from the spout at the top and from the gap at the bottom) the next time.

UPDATE:

After 2 months, the plastic blender coupling broke.

Powerful blender that does the job....for a couple of weeks

I should know better than to review a blender before I've used it at least a couple of months, rather than a couple of weeks. As noted in my initial review, it had a lot of power and worked swell for my demanding smoothies, which I prefer so thick you have to eat the with a spoon rather drink them. This requires lots of the frozen fruit I mentioned and very little liquid, a half cup of milk, so the blender has to work pretty hard with almost entirely frozen fruit and a splash of milk. After only a couple of weeks, a small PLASTIC ring that was part of the mechanism that actually rotated the blades, essentially stripped and separated from the gear that turned the blade, rendering the blender completly USELESS. Needless to say, I returned it to Costco, which typically has a relatively small selection of blenders, and went to Tarshay to peruse their blenders, which can vary from real cheap to over priced. Party Bullet PBG-1801 Perfect Drink Making System, Green

i would stick with the normal Bullet!
I got this as a gift because i have the original bullet and this Party bullet does compare… it is similar to the bullet but smaller and less efficient for the fact it can't hold much… You will find yourself making every person in the house a drink not just making a drink for everyone in the house. All in all decent product but would def rethink my options

Got it as a gift
Bought this as a gift for my mother for Christmas and that lush is tearing it up! Every time a friend or family member goes to her house, she is eager to bust out her Party Bullet to make daiquiris, margaritas and whatever else she is in the mood to party with. I get positive feedback constantly from her about how it was the best and most well-used gift she's received in a long time!

broke second use
The second time I used it, my margarita had chunks of plastic in it. Here, a piece of plastic had broken off inside the pitcher piece.
Also, ice didn't "turn to snow" like they said.
I was really looking forward to using the party bullet. Too bad it didn't measure up.

A Glorious Smoothie Machine, But...
I had this unit for two weeks and used it once, or sometimes twice a day. It makes glorious smoothies! Unfortunately, it's so noisy that you can't speak to someone standing next to you without shouting (96db at the operating position, if you care). It's impractical: there are lots of little nooks & crannies for food to be trapped in. It can't pour for @#%*... who designed that jar?! But it makes glorious smoothies!

One morning I was admiring the glorious smoothie process when I thought I heard a change in the motor's pitch. My nostrils began to detect a delicious toasted aroma. Little-by-little the smell grew more-and-more acrid, until I realized that a delicate haze was permeating the kitchen. I switched off the blender and lifted the jar, only to see a cloud of black smoke waft into the room. Had I burned out the motor? No! The little high-speed spindle that rotates the blades inside the jar had over-heated and melted the plastic surround! When the plastic was gooey, it...

Reinforce your counters
I have yet to see a blender do everything perfectly. This blender isn't likely to go very far on your counter; maybe not because you'll use it all the time, but because it's a pain to lift. Good if you have dedicated bar space, but you'd like to be able to use it for regular kitchen work too. I don't really use a blender for chopping, the knife and kitchen robot are better for me, but for liquids it's the way to go.

Questionable features are the digital timer and flashing lights, I don't know about Cuisinart's forays into electronics. I would expect those things to fail before the motor. And why a glass jar with a "durable" plastic handle, huh? As if they were trying to save weight on this one. It's some unnecessary cost-cutting that lowers the robustness a bit and makes cleaning a little trickier.

Separate ice crushing button and being able to add things through the top are both helpful features, and the warranty is excellent, they will usually stand by their...

Heavy Duty & Heavy
I was skeptical when I purchased this blender after reading the other 35 reviews here at Amazon. I picked this up at a local retail shop because I had a gift card which made this blender only $52 ($102 normal retail price). Got home, plugged it in, and made my first frozen berry smoothie.

I smelled the same "burning rubber" smell that others have commented on and having worked in construction for a couple years can say that is the smell of a powerful electric motor. I smelled the same thing using electric drills. This is a 600 watt motor... not the cheap motor you get with a $35 blender.

The blender is heavy. The glass jar is thick and heavy as well. I'm a guy so I don't mind the lifting of this weighty behemoth, but if weight is a consideration for you just keep that in mind before you purchase.
